Rueda calls up Ecuador squad for World Cup qualifying
Coach Reynaldo Rueda announced his 24-man list for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Argentina and Colombia. These matches are extremely important for the Tricolor as they want to make a return to the World Cup after missing out on South Africa.
Two late additions to the squad were that of Deportivo Quito defender Giovanny Espinoza and Emelec midfielder Pedro Quiñonez who will provide more depth to the squad, according to Rueda. "We have to be aware that we are playing the team that has the best player in the world and we have to be prepared for that," said Rueda in Thursday’s press conference. The Ecuadorians currently find themselves in fourth place with six points.
