Oleg Yarovinsky to be Leonid Slutsky’s eyes in the stands

Een artikel uit de HullDailyMail waarin we nader kennis kunnen maken met de Leonid Slutsy’s assistent Oleg Yarovinsky.
Oleg Yarovinsky will be a prominent figure in the dressing room at Norwich City this afternoon – but not in the dug-out alongside head coach Leonid Slutsky.Yarovinsky was appointed City’s new head of club strategy on Thursday after finally being granted a work permit and his introduction to the English game will come when travelling to Carrow Road today.

The 35-year-old has previously worked with Slutsky during his spells in charge of FC Moscow, Krylia Sovetov and CSKA Moscow in Russia but rather than working as a traditional assistant, he will take on an unorthodox role with the Tigers.

“He will be in the stands,” said Slutsky. “It’s a special function.

“He has a special task about tactical formations and he is very important during the time in the dressing room. It can be very difficult to understand everything when you stand in the technical zone.

“His work will be a balance between the scouting department and assistant coach. He will always participate in training sessions and he will be in the dressing room.

“He will have a very good relationship with the scouting department also and will bring more good communication between that department and the team. That is very important for me and for everybody.”

Slutsky identified a role for Yarovinsky shortly after being appointed City boss in June but only this week has his long-standing ally been given permission to start working for the Tigers.

“The first time I met with him was at FC Moscow, maybe 2004, 13 years ago,” explained Slutsky.

“I know him very well. He’s very professional and we have a very strong relationship.

“Usually each coach will bring a lot of assistants, people in the scouting network. Not me because I trust the people who are working here. They work to a very high professional level.

“Oleg is very important because after a training session I can discuss with him any problems. For everybody it’s important to have a friend who is really very professional. I can speak with him 24 hours (a day).

“He speaks fluent English, German, Spanish and of course Russian which is very important when communicating with players, agents and other clubs.

“He has a serious education after coming through the top Russian university. I hope he will help this club’s development and we will have great results together.
