Vasas Kubala Academy: open academy
Vasas Kubala Academy educates the next generation of football players for the Budapest Vasas Spots Club, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011, and took László Kubala’s name on 9 December 2011. The system of the Academy primarily focuses on top sports, shaping the elite athletes of tomorrow; however, it also considers its mission to prepare children for a lifelong lifestyle of sports and exercise. The purpose of the Vasas Kubala Academy is to contribute to supplying the next generation of players for Hungarian football, and to provide the system of conditions for this goal at a high level.
Open academy model
The education of football players is conducted for the ages of 6-21 years old, at locations in two districts of Budapest (XIII. Fáy utca, II. Pasaréti út) Pasaréti út) simultaneously. The academy trains 500 young players each year. It participates in the education system with 22 boy classes in as many age groups, and one girl class, trained and overseen by 30 professional coaches (lead coaches, field coaches, goalie coaches, coordination coaches, etc.) Each members of the professional faculty operates with the required licensed qualifications.
Family first
The primary aspect in the operation of Vasas Kubala Academy is coordinating and harmonizing the education, preparation, and competitions of the young players. The unique characteristic of our professional motto is that the education involves boarding at dormitories only in case of players from outside Budapest. High quality dormitories are available for everyone, but where it is possible, we advise the students to remain with their families. With this system, Vasas offers a one-of-a-kind alternative within the usually closed sports academic system.

Adhering to this motto, we offer numerous professional and other kinds of programs whereby we are able to orient our talented youngsters in the proper direction during their vulnerable years, both in the area of football and in their private life.
Academic education
We provide a sports school background primarily for the U14-U21 age group as required. In accordance with the open academy model, we do not provide an opportunity to change schools for academic education; however, we are able offer several reputed school, depending on which direction the young athletes would like to continue their academic studies. We maintain daily contact with our affiliated schools, which accommodate the schedule of our training and coaching sessions in their timetable.

Program
Our programs are schedules from Monday through Friday 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
For children from outside Budapest, who will be staying at dormitories, we provide 24-hour programs and supervision.
The Daily Schedule
8:00 AM – breakfast for the boarding students
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM coaching sessions
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM lunch
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM education for the preparation of sports life
3:30 PM – 5:00 PM coaching sessions
5:30 PM – dinner for the boarding students
The education involves five different modules
1. nutrition – what and how to eat
2. sport psychologist: motivation and striving for success
3. success: the account of a selected player signed with a team abroad
4. language teaching: teaching English in a fun way
5. life coaching: how to use Facebook for an athlete, how to dress
